Appeals Court Rules Anti-Gun Emanual Should Be Taken Off Chicago Mayoral Ballot

Breaking News --

Former White House chief of Staff Rahm Emanual, who now wants to run for mayor of Chicago, has been told by a state appellate court that his name should be removed from the ballot because he does not meet residency requirements.

More to come.....

I'm no big Rahm Emanual fan, but this is ridiculous. He's a Chicago guy, in Washington to serve his country (whether you agree with his politics or not). If he had been in Afghanistan instead of Washington would his lack of Chicago residency be an issue??

A good question! Its never been tested before, but he clearly (pro gun or anti gun) hasn't been a resident for at least a year. He may list his official residency as there, but he didn't RESIDE there. Voting comes to mind also. There has been the big uproar over absentee ballots from military men and women serving overseas getting back in time to their individual boards of elections to be counted. You ask a good question that needs to be decided by the courts.
