Fred Thompson Woos SC Gun Owners; Kerry Endorses Barack Obama

From the Politico: "Fred Thompson is making a last stand in the Palmetto State and he’s counting on gun owners to deliver a high-profile victory to boost his foundering presidential campaign."

I've not at all thus far discussed my preferences in the presidential race, but I did hope Thompson's campaign would go somewhere. South Carolina appears to be make or break for the actor and former senator from Tennessee.

MEANWHILE, 2004 democrat presidential nominee John Kerry endorsed Barack Obama today. The endorsement is viewed at a slap not only at Hillary Clinton, but Kerry's 2004 running mate, John Edwards, who has his own presidential aspirations. Of course, you all remember Kerry, right? In case you've forgotten, during the 2004 campaign he bent over backwards in his claim to be a friend to firearms owners, all the while co-sponsoring numerous draconian anti-gun, anti-hunting bills in the U.S. Senate.

And let's not fergit about John's stoppin by my fair state of Ah-hia fer some goose and duck huntin, neither! (Note: If you never saw the news video of Kerry purchasing an Ohio hunting license, the previous sentence will mean nothing to you).

Don't remind me about John Kerry's taped request about where to GIT his HUNTIN license. I was so embarrassed that he did this in my home of Ohio.

Tell me about it. I had out-of-state relatives imitating Kerry because they had seen it on the national news. What was worse was that he tried to pull off that appalachian drawl in northeast Ohio, where people talk in a faster clipped speech. Now if he had been in Southeastern Ohio, his attempt would have sounded more realistic. Still, you're right. It WAS embarrassing.
