A retired Chicago police officer has been informed that the state of Illinois will not renew his FOID card after unearthing a theft charge against him from 1956. Only, the charge was deemed by investigators and eyewitnesses at the time as "bogus." Still, the state is indicating he has no right to own his personal firearms unless he brings in court documents stating that the issue was resolved.
