Tennessee Denies Setting Up Gun Registry

The State of Tennessee is backpedaling furiously this week, telling firearms safety instructors there to pay noooooo attention to certain sections of a roster document mailed to Handgun Safety School Class directors.

At issue? Three sections that asked instructors to mark down the make and serial number of firearms brought to class by students.

Hmmm . . .

Someone had the idea though, and this document made it through the approval and printing process. And it was all a mistake? Really?

Me thinks some state officials thought no one would think anything of it. But it blew up in their collective faces.
