UK: Ban On Using Hounds To Hunt Fox Boosts Interest In Hunting

Oh the perils of unintended consequences! Just as Bill Clinton armed America when he began pushing the Brady checks and bans on so-called "assault weapons" (with his mandates, there was a rush in the 1990s on firearms stores and gun shows by ordinary Americans who wanted to buy guns before their rights were rescinded by an unfriendly Congress and presidential signature), so goes interest in hunting in the UK. It seems that since Parliament banned the use of hounds to hunt foxes in Britain, hunting has become even more popular. Interestingly, falconry has taken off. And while you can no longer hunt foxes with a dog, you can use your hound to flush wild mammals -- including foxes -- toward your falcon.
