USA Today Says Find Middle Ground On DC Gun Issue

In a USA Today editorial, the national paper feels the Supreme Court should use the Parker/Heller case to "sensibly define the limits of both individual gun ownership and government's ability to control it." Their opinion is elitist.

Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, provided the editors with an opposing viewpoint. He writes, "In recent years, the Supreme Court has already stated that whenever 'the people' is mentioned in the Bill of Rights that it refers to the same 'class of persons.' So if 'the people' in the Second Amendment doesn't refer to all of the people, then it doesn't in the First or Fourth Amendments either."
