GOA: Where We Go From Here With Veterans Disarmament Act

Gun Owners of America issued a statement last week about what is officially known as the NICS Improvement Act of 2007, passed in the wake of the shootings at Virginia Tech. But increasingly, lawful firearms owners are coming to refer to it as the Veterans Disarmament Act.

You may not know it, but there was never a formal vote tally taken on this bill. It was passed using a mechanism called "unanimous consent." It allowed the bill to pass, and yet gave cover to members of congress and senators who don't want to be pinned down and admit they voted for it. For in a way, they didn't. And yet, they did.

The unintended consequence: The new law could which could potentially disarm millions of Americans, particularly our military veterans. Read GOA's piece by clicking here.
