NY: Hunting Excise Taxes Being Used To Pay Crime Victims

A letter to the editor from a wildlife manager in New York asks the following: "I wonder why the excise taxes collected from my purchase of firearms, ammunition etc. go to victims of gun violence. My firearms are not used for violence; they are used for hunting (and trapping) and taxes should enhance those opportunities."
