Gun Shows In Peril, This Time From The White House?

Take a close look at the second paragraph from the end of this story from the El Paso Times, which quotes acting ATF Director Mike Sullivan regarding the U.S. sharing gun trace data with Mexican police. He says President George W. Bush has indicated he would support a measure in Congress to ban private transactions of firearms at gun shows.

You know, to close the non-existent "gun show loophole."

That statement, combined with the Department of Justice brief to the Supreme Court supporting the DC handgun ban, is more than disconcerting.
