In Honor Of Mother's Day

While the media tends to have this belief that women are a brand new group within the shooting sports community -- and firearms companies are now suddenly catering to them in order to stay afloat -- the fact is that women have been shooting for more than 100 years. Far longer, actually.

In honor of Mother's Day, here is a compilation of advertisements for firearms and related equipment starring, you guessed it, women! Ads from the early 1900s are positioned next to contemporary ads. Be sure to click on all the tabs on the left to see ads for safety, hunting, etc., even posters promoting "cowgirls." Anyone remember Annie Oakley?

Kudos to author Laura Browder for putting this together!
