Updated: Monday, March 3, 2008, 11:03 pm -- Canada late today came to the rescue of Mr. Obama, defending him against accusations from Hillary Clinton that he is quietly alright with Canada and NAFTA, though he publicly has said the trade agreement is hurting U.S. states and various state's economies.

Updated: Monday, March 3, 2008, 10:11 pm -- Barack Obama had a rough day today. He hasn't had much to say about the trial of donor and fundraiser Tony Rezko, a Chicago developer and fast food magnate. Today, during an unusually testy news conference with Chicago area reporters, Obama was pressed about his relationship with the "fixer" and his campaign's contradictory answers on NAFTA.

Blogger Tigerhawk has picked up on something interesting. Concern over what presidential candidate Barack Obama is telling people. For example, telling Canadian diplomats one thing about NAFTA, and voters here in Ohio a different story.
Moreover, the question has come up about what he is telling Israelis and Palestinians."Assume, for a moment, that Ali Abunimah had genuine insight into Barack Obama's opinions four years ago. Is his recently expressed strong support for Israel fabricated? Is it permanent, or will he in fact "be more up front" after he is elected?"
The exchange came up regarding wonderment by Palestinian advocates who had noted Obama was saying less about their cause while he was running in the democrat primary for the Senate seat he now holds. At an event during that primary season, he told one Palestinian cause supporter that he was sorry he hadn't been saying more Palestine right then, but he was in in a tough primary race. He hoped that when things calmed down he could be more upfront.
Sooo . . .
Should it be any wonder that I am incredibly skeptical about what he (and Hillary Clinton for that matter) is telling the media and others about his views on firearms, the Second Amendment and gun control?
