The Wyoming State Senate yesterday gave preliminary approval to a castle doctrine bill by an overwhelming vote of 20-9. The measure is expected to be amended somewhat today when senators debate the measure at length.
The bill would specify people do not have to retreat before using deadly force to repeal a criminal attack, and would specify that a person who uses deadly force against an intruder who enters their home could not be found liable for civil damages.
