Gov. Ted Strickland's "State of the State" address is Wednesday, the same day as the Ohio Senate's criminal justice committee meeting. I just got off the phone with an aide in committee Chairman Sen. Tim Grendell's office, and he indicated that the number of carryover people who wanted to testify last week would again make for a lengthy hearing.
Committe members don't want the hearing to interfere with Gov. Strickland's address. So look for interested party, proponent and opponent testimony next Wednesday, FEBRUARY 13, on SB 184. At that time the county prosecutors association plans to step up in opposition, as may the Fraternal Order of Police.
