Are Guns On Campus Uniquely Dangerous?

Jacob Sollum, writing for Reason Magazine, suggests that the extent to which a continuing decline in violent crime in Florida can be attributed to more guns in the hands of law-abiding people in public places remains a matter of much controversy.

"But one thing seems pretty clear: The fears stoked by opponents of concealed carry liberalization were unjustified. Are there good reasons to think their dark predictions about guns on campus will be any more accurate?"

Here is his look at the momentum behind a fast-growing movement to allow professors, staff and students who possess concealed carry licenses, to carry their self-defense tools on college campuses, the supposedly safe, "gun-free" sites of a number of recent shootings.
