What was said on MSNBC about Hillary Clinton's daughter did really go right up against the edge. But another newsreader on the same network used virtually identical language about President Bush and General Patreus last September, and NBC didn't even blink.
I guess cowtowing by the media depends on who "the word" is describing, and "the politician" complains about it.
Of course, David Shuster is no stranger to controvery. He has long been accused of sloppy journalism and blatant bias in his reporting. But one pundit at National Review is intrigued that while longtime factual blunders and bias have been overlooked by the network brass, the wrath of the Clinton campaign may be his undoing.
