A day to remember that most Americans don't even know about. It is marked with festivals, parades, the Boston Marathon, and many other events throughout New England.
I remember some talk several years ago in the wake of the brutal 9-11 terror attacks upon the United States to mark September 11 as Patriot's Day. That proposal died quickly as historians and others reminded America that there already is a Patriot's Day, which commemorates "the shot heard 'round the world."
